Words are inadequate to express our sorrow at Gene's passing. Have read the guest book and it doesn't leave many descriptions left to describe Gene's many talents and the many good deeds he spread around to his friends, clients and peers. We were clients but he almost made us feel like family. We had tremendous trust and respect for the gentleman that he was. We know that as his family you have many adjustments to make and many precious memories to reflect on. We will be praying for you now to rest in the peace that only comes from The Lord, whom he served and is with now! We were blessed to be a minute part od his life and treasure our memories, also. Many thanks to Boykin for keping us aware of what was going on and how all of you were coping. May God bless all of you!

We served together in BLT 3/3 and hunted and fished together over the many years and watched our families grow up. He was a wonderful friend, amazingly considerate and always cheerful. I will miss him greatly. My deepest sympathies to his lovely family.

Cantey...Dianne and I are so sorry for the lose of Gene. He was my oldest friend, close to fifty years. I'm so glad that we all had the time to get together and have dinner, and of course, remember our childhood. He now joins the ranks of some of the finest of our families. God Bless him and all of you. The Kersey

Dear Cantey and all of your family, especially your sister and my dear friend, Elizabeth,
I had the honor of talking with Foxy several times over the past year - what a wonderful man even in all of his time of fighting his battle with cancer. Your deep love, compassion, and supportive attitude was always evident each time I saw you two together. Our prayers for strength are with you all. Earl and Jenny Brown

Gene's care and compassion for Mom and Dad went well past the professional relationship they enjoyed thru the years.
His personal attention to their health and well-being, went well past the professional responsibilities and will forever be remembered and treasured.
Both parents have and Mom will forever speak of the special fondness and absolute trust they had for Gene and his counsel. As their children, it was comforting to know they were in such skilled and caring hands!
Our prayers are with you in this time of loss. May God's blessings wash over you and give you comfort in these difficult times.
Sincerest regards,
Butch, Cindy, Lindy and Walt

Dear Foxworth Family,
I met Gene within days of his family's arrival in Charleston when he came to Middleton High School. He became an instant friend to me & countless others. His ramrod straight posture towered over everyone else & was matched by his kindness to all.
He volunteered for everything possible & was a brilliant defensive general on the football field. He introduced my Best Friend, Jimmy Howe & I, to his family when his Parents moved to Rutledge Ave. When that happened, they moved into our hearts.
Even as Life took me from Charleston to
California, my cousins were Gene's clients & they were able to let him know that I treasured his friendship for all these years & from coast-to-coast.
I am sure that Col.& Mrs. Foxworth are so proud of Gene's Earthly accomplishments. To the remaining Foxworth family, please accept my deepest sympathies & rest assured that the likes of Gene will Live Forever!
With as much love & respect as I can muster,
Norman L Beberman

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Foxworth. My family lives on Ferry Street, directly behind the Foxworths. I remember Mr. Foxworth as being a kind generous man. When my father passed, Mr. Foxworth checked on my family regularly to make sure we were ok. Heaven gained another angel.

Foxy was a true believer in so many causes. I first met him when Col. Foxworth was running for office. At each strategy session Foxy wanted the most difficult task. Mr. Marion Stone would caution Foxy to let the other guys do something but Foxy was determined to out work everyone to help his dad. Thanks to Julia and Christine for inspiring your brother to lead, help, defend, and serve, He made a real difference in the greater Charleston community.

Dear Cantey, I met you last Dec. when we moved things out of your family home in Forest Acres. You made a great impression on me as a sincere and compassionate person. I met Gene a few months later, in April for the first and only time, but I will always remember his sincere smile and firm handshake. I now know what a special bond the two of you had and will always have. I am honored to have met Gene, you and your dear children. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Cantey, Elizabeth joins me in extending our most sincere sympathy to you and the children with your loss of Foxy. He was such a nice guy! He and I bonded as we were "outsiders" marrying into yours and Elizabeth's neighborhood here in Columbia at the same time 30 years ago. He was such a good sport with me about that. We are with you in spirit. We have only heard what a great and supportive person you have been these past 22 months. Elizabeth Wyman Crews and Sam Crews, III
