Dear Family of my dear cousin Ethel,
I am late in sending you my sympathy, because my husband, Manfred Hoffmann, died on March 15. He was fond of Ethel, too, and I loved her dearly. She shared so much with me of her abundant family lore, especially about my father Bob Lunz. She was convinced I should have inherited, or at least bought part of, Little Goat Island!
She often spoke of her love for her children and grandchildren. I offer my heartfelt condolences to all of you.

She was one of the nicest woman I've ever known. It was a privilege to have met her and Felix. I'll always be grateful to her for sharing her knowledge of Southern History and pointing me the way to further my research.

Ethyl and Felix were very special people whom we were lucky to meet later in life. Ethel's scholarship and never ending interest in history and genealogy kept us interested for many years. We are proud to be somewhat distant cousins. We miss them and know that they are in better hands
