To the Brown Family, our hearts are heavy with sadness at the loss of one who helped us see God in a real and personal way. Sis Essie as we affectionately called her always gave kind words of encouragement to all she came in contact with. We will truly miss her smile and the outpouring of love she gave to the Mt. Carmel UM Church Family. Thank you for allowing us to share in that love.

My sympathy is with the family at this time of sorrow. I worked with BellSouth and AT&T also. Ms. Essie made sure we had good meals. She was the sweetest and loving person I know. God Bless You.

To the Brown Family:
You have my heartfelt condolence.
Mrs. Brown will alwys be remembered for the wonderful person she was. Working at Bell South and Att on St. Phillip Street, it was routine to run to Kress and get breakfast or lunch. Mrs. Essie made sure that we were well feed. It almost seems like yesterday, fond memories she left behind. May God grant you peace at this time, Knowing that God only takes His own. Be encouraged

To Raymond and Angelo,
I am extremely sadden about your loss. Although they were cousins, my grandmother and her were like sisters. I thought for the longest she was one of my grandmother's sisters. I believe that's why we called her "aunt" Esssie instead of "cousin" Essie and when I found out the difference it was too late to change. I will remember her always in my heart. She was always so kind in everything she did and say. I will miss her smile, laugh and the Lord knows I will miss those delicious pound and coconut cakes she and your dad would make for us. Rest in peace Aunt Essie, I love you.

I am pleased to have been touched by the life of Mother Essie Brown. She authentically loved, nurtured, and cared for the Children and Youth Ministries of Mount Carmel UM Church. She was indeed a virtuous lady who gained my respect during my childhood over 15 years ago. In the midst of mourning our lost, I am grateful to have been in the presence of such a legend. Mother Brown will be remembered in many generations to come.

God be with all of you during your time of sorrow and bereavement. It was a honor and indeed a blessing to be one of the many children whose life was positively impacted by the love and dedication of Ms. Essie. She was a great inspiration and a real leader in the community.

I am grateful to Ms. Essie for the time she dedicated to children's ministry. She touched the lives of countless generations of young people. I thank God she was a part of my life and the life of my children. A special thank you to her children for allowing their mother to be a mother to countless others.
