Ernestine Rivers Awendaw - Ernestine Rivers, 81, of Awendaw, SC, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Greater Zion AME Church. Internment will follow at the Greater Zion AME Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM at The Bryan McNeal, Sr. Memorial Chapel, 4129 Highway 17 N., Awendaw, SC 29429. Ernestine, daughter of the late John Hilliard, Sr. and Victoria Hilliard, was born February 18, 1934 in Awendaw, SC. Ernestine is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Willie Rivers; her daughter, Vickie Gibbs; her son, Michael Rivers (Jackie); her grandchildren, Tracy Manigault (Joseph), Robin Stewart, Brandon Stewart (Kelley), and Brianna Rivers; great-grandchildren, Keaira Manigault and Courtland Malvo. Her sisters, Alethia Hilliard, Mary Colleton, Carrie Hilliard, and Ella Glover (Howard); her brothers, John Hilliard, Jr., Nathaniel Hilliard (Barbara), Franklin Hilliard, I (Theresa), and the late Bennie Hilliard; sister-in-law of Oliver Rivers (Roslyn), Edward Rivers (Rodella), Nathaniel Rivers, and Emily Nelson (Vernon). Niece of Estelle Wright (John, Jr.) and Margaret Brown. Host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special cousins: Mabel P. Smith and Jeanette P. Singleton.
