Ernest Schwach Obituary

Ernest Schwach, Jr. SUMMERTON, SC - Ernest Frank Schwach, Jr., 90, loving husband for 69 years of Elisabeth Beatrice Hussey Schwach, died Friday, August 1, 2025, at his home. Born in Norfolk, VA, he was a son of the late Ernest Frank Schwach, Sr. and Muriel McElveen Nettles. Mr. Schwach was a U.S. Navy veteran and served on the USS Midway. He was a retired civil service employee at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was of the Presbyterian faith. Surviving are a son, William "Billy" Schwach (Tina) of Hemingway, SC; three daughters, Julie Rambo (Reese) and Cindy Cook (Chuck) both of Charleston and Laurie Crenshaw (Brian) of Goose Creek, SC; nine grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Ernest Frank Schwach, III. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. Tuesday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Donation Processing Center, P. O. Box 5041, Boone, IA 50950-0041. On-line condolences may be sent to www.sumterfunerals.com.
