Erma Jordan Obituary

Erma H. Jordan Hanahan - Erma H. Jordan, 78, of Hanahan, South Carolina, entered eternal rest on December 29, 2021. Erma was born on December 21, 1943 to Henry Leon and Sarah Crosby Hatchell in Walterboro, South Carolina. After Erma graduated from Hanahan High School in 1961, she worked at various jobs including Northside Baptist Church as an office manager during the 1970s and 80s and then worked at Bayer and Honeywell for a time. In February 1961, Erma married the love of her life, Van Myron Jordan. They went on to care for two loving children, Pamela Jordan Farley and Shauna Jordan Bailey. Erma retired in the early 2000s to spend time with her husband, mother and family. She loved to spend time with her husband, Myron, and her family more than anything else. Erma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a super grandma for sure. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Jordan Farley (Rick) of Charleston and Shauna Jordan Bailey (Kris) of Dettenhausen, Germany; grandchildren, Richard (Trey) W. Farley III, Kayla Jordan Bailey Means, Jordan Lynn Farley, McKenna Ann Bailey and Alexandria Jean Bailey; great-grandchildren, James Wallace Jordan Means and Richard Elijah January Means, Jr. of Oklahoma. She is also survived by several loving sisters-in-law and many nephews and nieces. Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Van Myron Jordan, her parents, Henry Leon and Sarah Crosby Hatchell and her brother, Henry L. Hatchell, Jr. Erma was a member of Portside Baptist Church in North Charleston. A Visitation will be Tuesday January 4, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funerals & Cremation, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday January 5, 2022 at Carolina Memorial Funerals & Cremation from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
