Eris Hutchinson Obituary

Eris Hayes Hutchinson NICHOLS, SC - Eris Lee Hayes Hutchinson, formerly of Nichols, SC and widow of Hoyt Phillip Hutchinson, Sr., entered into Eternal Rest on October 22, 2010, while a resident of The Methodist Manor in Florence, SC. She celebrated 89 years of a selfless life, enriching many with her presence. Mrs. Hutchinson was born in Lake View, SC on December 9, 1921, a daughter of the late Sidney Lee Hayes and the late Louola Anderson Hayes. She was very active at Nichols United Methodist Church, serving on various committees. She retired from Mullins Hospital after 32 years as Office Manager. She was called "Mother" by her two loving children, Hoyt Phillip (Leta) Hutchinson Jr. of Florence, and Patricia H. (George) Monocrusos of Charleston. She was called "Gamma" by her grandchildren, Maria V.M. (Tom) English of Columbia, Brent Ashly (Katherine) Hutchinson, and Donald Brice King of Florence; and by her great-grandchildren, Anthony George English and Nicholas Edward English of Columbia, Luke Ashly Hutchinson and Ava Katherine Hutchinson of Florence. She is also survived by a dear special family friend, Judith W. Hamilton (Sam) and son Jason of Topsail Beach, NC. The family would like to extend a grateful thank you to Mell Shird and Leroy Waters for their loyal dedication to our mother. We gratefully acknowledge all the caregivers and staff members at The Methodist Manor of Florence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 25, 2010, at Nichols United Methodist Church with the Reverend Bill Heustess officiating.
