Enrique Portillo Obituary

PORTILLO Enrique Portillo, 77, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was embraced by God's loving arms on Monday, February 28, 2011 in El Paso, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Alicia L. Portillo. Children: Victor (Marie), Aida (Eddie), Rene (Julieta), Roy (Lupe), Nohemi (Jonathan). Grandchildren: Eddie (Brandy), Adrian, Gabriel, Celeste, Alex, Nicholas, Rene Jr., Sarahi, Celina, Roy II, Michael, Melissa and Brian. Great-granddaughters: Sophia and Sabrina. YOU WILL BE DEARLY MISSED AND REMAIN FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Vic, your dad was a prime example we grew up with in terms of morals and the perfect dad. I remember Manny, Ricky Juarez,Hector and yourself listening to him talk with all of us to lead us by example how to survive. The good old days. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Thanks to Mr. Portillo for his advice on life when I was growing up. A good neighbor setting an example of commitment to wife, family and work. Him hopping in his Ford and going to work really stands out in my mind as do moments he shared about life when I was a young man. My condolences to the family. stay strong and support one another.
