Emma Guercio Lapi MT. PLEASANT - Emma Guercio Lapi, 79, wife of the late Salvatore "Sam" Joseph Lapi of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2010. The relatives and friends of Emma Lapi are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, in Christ Our King Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Mrs. Lapi was born June 18, 1931, in Calabria, Italy, daughter of the late Carmine Guercio and Anna Repoli Guercio. Emma was considered by many to be a master gardener, even without the official paperwork. In her garden, she found peace, prayed, experienced the joy of life, and, among her flowers, she found God's presence. She is survived by her daughter, Karyla L. Gaines of Mt. Pleasant, SC. The family requests that memorials be made to the "Way of the Cross Park" at Christ our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Dr., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
