Emerson was a great leader across South Carolina in many ways. His leadership of the efforts for reduction of our home taxes and elimination of the grocery tax is still saving our citizens as much as a billion dollars a year. I have had many hundreds of people express appreciation for the efforts. It was a great pleasure to work with him.
Please know that our prayers are with his family.

My sympathy goes out to the family of Mr. Read Sr. Remembering and cherishing the happy times might be painful at first; however, those memories will sustain you through the days ahead. (2 Corinthians 4:7) My thoughts and prayers are with you all -

So many happy memories from King St. I especially recall hearing daddy and Uncle Emerson laughing down in the workshop telling stories. He was a dear and wonderful man and I will always be grateful for his kindness to me. Much love to all in the family.
