Elsie, a train is going by and the whistle blowing sounds so lonely that I couldn't help but think of you. Soon the guest book will no longer be here and I wanted to say a last "Goodbye." Love forever. Cree

Elsie, when I was rushing down I-26 to get to the funeral home on time (at 9:00 the morning of your funeral) I knew that all was well. I looked up at the sky and there were two clouds with rays streaming out from all around them, and I knew Phil was letting me know you were with them. He was there looking out for you - "Phil keeps me straight" as you used to say. I never pass the nursing that I don't think of Ivan and am glad I was in the building at the time he passed away. I miss you and Newton and all of our family - Mama,Daddy and everyone. Love, Cree

We really do miss you Elsie. I remember as a little boy visiting Aunt Elsie and Uncle Ivan with my family. You always had fun chasing us kids around and showing us the models that Bruce had in his old room. Thank you for being so wonderful. We love you.

I will always remember when Johnson,Jennie and myself lived with Grandma and Grandpa. Elsie,Bud and Cree were still at home and I got to go to school with them. Elsie was always a lot of fun. When we came tto Gastonia to live and went back to Grandma's for a visit, I always spent the night with Elsie and Ivan. When Mama died I can't forget her driving all the way to Gastonia by her self.

As a child I always looked forward to a visit from Aunt Elsie. Then when she and Uncle Ivan married we were still blessed to enjoy fun and fellowship with them. I could not close this with out mentioning the love and laughter that we always felt arounded us whenever they visited. Precious Memories.

I remember the time that Dad bought us a calf, one day Elsie, Bud and I decided to hitch it to a little wagon and ride. After getting Elsie and Bud into the wagon, I hit the calf with a long switch, the calf took off threw them out and wrapped the wagon around a tree.Of course that was not to be the end. Next we decided to ride it- that didn't work either. My, oh my -as kids we sure did have fun making up our own games and good times.

We have so many years of great memories all the way back to when Bruce and I were tiny. Our families spent so many times together that were all they should have been all the way through very recent years. We will never forget all those times of fun and laughter and how important you are to us. We love you and Uncle Ivan.
