PINCKNEY, III, Elric Elric Simons Pinckney, III was born in Charleston, SC on May 2, 1947,graduated from Aiken High School, attended the University of South Carolinaand served in the United States Marine Corps. After cancer surgery, he moved to Key West for recuperation and became an active member of the creative community. He was founding editor of Celebrate! Most especially, he cherished the Key West Film Society, his major philanthropy, which he served professionally in areas of administration and fundraising. He was also a member of Metropolitan Community Church. A skilled storyteller with a quiet but wicked sense of humor, Ric was universally recognized by those who knew him well as a Southern gentleman and a gentle man. Memorial services will be held at Metropolitan Community Church, 1215 Petronia in Key West Saturday morning at 10:00. Interment will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Charleston, South Carolina later this month. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. Visit our guestbook at www.charleston.net/deaths.

Elric was in my high school class. I loved his personality. I am so sorry that his life was cut short. He was a terrific person.

Rick and I were "school chums" at

AHS. I moved from Charleston to New

Ellenton in 1962, where my Dad was

Eddie Walters, Chief of Police. We

moved back to Charleston in '64 our

junior yr. at AHS.

Rick & I shared many laughs and good times. I spent nights at his

home in Aiken several times. I can

still see him approaching down the

halls in his London Fog coat, a smile gleaming with braces! Yes, what a sense of humor ! Thru the

years, whenever name Pinckney arises, I have thought of him. He will always be a part of my life.

My Metro Com. Church will pray for

family.
