Elmer Beach Obituary

BEACH, Elmer WALTERBORO Mr. Elmer Ervin Beach, 75, of 394 Quail Drive, Walterboro, died Sunday morning, July 6, 2008, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. Funeral services will be conducted 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, July 8, 2008, from Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 5277 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. Interment will follow in the churchyard. Mr. Beach was born July 26, 1932, in Colleton County, and was a son of the late Lewis Beach and the late Ethel Robertson Beach. He worked his life in the construction industry and was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife of fifty-seven years, Mrs. Betty Rea Varnadoe Beach; a son, Larry Ervin Beach and his wife Susan of Walterboro; a daughter, Elma Rose Mendoza and her husband Mike of Johns Island; three brothers, Wallace Beach, Witsell Beach, and James Beach, all of Walterboro; and a sister, Norma Jane Lyons of Walterboro. There are two grandchildren, Damien Beach of Fairfax and Brianna Mendoza of Johns Island and a step grandson, Colin McGee of Louisiana; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Flowers will be accepted or, for those that wish, the family has suggested that memorials be directed in his memory to: Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 5277 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro, SC 29488.
