Elmar Saddison Obituary

Saddison, Elmar H.

Elmar H. Saddison, age 90, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, in the sunny warmth of Englewood, Florida. He formerly lived in Tomahawk and Junction City.

He was born to Charles and Thelma Saddison in Sturgis, Michigan, on December 4, 1925. Elmar graduated from Colon High School in 1945.

Elmar enlisted in the Army in 1946 and was honorably discharged in 1947. Elmar was married to Kathryn Baumeister in October 1945 and were married for 58 years. They farmed in Michigan and moved to Junction City in 1958 where they continued farming while he worked at Consolidated Papers until his retirement. Following his retirement, they moved to Lake Alice in Tomahawk and became snowbirds spending winters in Florida.

Elmar will be remembered for his sense of humor and big blue eyes.

Elmar is survived by six children; Marlene Ecke, Larry (Donna) Saddison, James Saddison, Sam (Jan) Nelson, Barbara Saddison (Doug Bradford), Mark (Sonya) Saddison; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by one sister, Mildred Pearson, of Constantine, Michigan; one brother, Robert (Betty) of Sturgis, Michigan; and one sister-in-law, Roberta Saddison.

Elmar was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Vern, Ray, and Carl.

A private family service and burial will be held at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI at a later date.

The family would like to thank Grand Villa Assisted Living for the exceptional care and compassion provided during his stay. A special thanks to Elmar's brother, Robert and sister-in-law, Betty for spending time and their ongoing support that they provided.

We'll always remember Elmar's smile and humor. He'd say at breakfast " Mother, these pancakes are a little burnt, but... that's just the way I like em." Or, when deer hunting "you guys go ahead, I'll stay here and charge my battery."
May the whole family remember the joy of his life lived to the fullest.
