I still miss Ellen. We were high school chums at Mt. Lebanon High School, a suburb of Pittsburgh. Ellen and I enjoyed symphony concerts and listening to classical music. She had a dry wit and could keep a straight face while her friends were doubled over with laughing at her wit. Much love to all who loved Ellen. I ended up teaching the gifted child in schools in WV....I still hear from them. One just posted a greeting from Hong Kong. Many of them were musical and witty and reminded me of dear Ellen. this memory from a high school friend: Ellen was a delightful friend and lots of fun. Her quick wit often diffused any teen-aged "angst." She had a wider perspective, possibly because of her excellence in music and music appreciation. Mt. Lebanon High School was a challenge academically, and Ellen was one of the top scholars. I miss her still, and wish she had lived much longer. She still is very alive in my memories of her, of her kindness and her strength. Love to all of her family from Virginia Lee Henthorne Graham

I still miss my high school buddy, Ellen von Ende Billeter. She was one of the few who could make me laugh. She could even make musical jokes. What a bright light she was. Dearly missed.
