Ella Winn Obituary

Ella Lenora Mitchum Winn, age 94, of Santee Circle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at a nursing facility in St. Stephen, South Carolina. Born on February 9, 1931, in Bonneau, SC, she was the cherished daughter of Rev. Onie Harleston Mitchum and Daisy L. Martin Mitchum. Mrs. Winn devoted her life to ministry as a retired Pastor and founder of Full Gospel Holiness Church. Beginning her preaching journey at the remarkable age of nineteen, she was later ordained as a Doctor of Divinity by Rev. Richard H. Hall. Throughout her distinguished career, she served numerous congregations, traveling the world to share her faith, with several memorable trips to Jerusalem. Her journeys brought her the unique honor of meeting both the Pope and the Queen, experiences that reflected her dedication and impact as a spiritual leader. Her passion for preaching and teaching the word of the Lord was evident to all who knew her. She loved the Lord deeply and inspired countless others with her faith and wisdom. Ella is survived by her four daughters: Priscilla Winn of Hawaii, Lydia Winn of Macedonia, Linda Winn Hartley of Jamestown, and Felicia Winn of Santee Circle; her brother, Harleston Mitchum of Alvin; fifteen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald B. Winn; her sons, Donald A. Winn and Paul Winn; four sisters, Stella Johnson, Ellie Scott, Ruby Lee Mitchum, and Mary Jane Ballentine; and five brothers, Manuel Mitchum, Carnell Mitchum, Allen Mitchum, Barney Mitchum, and Furman Mitchum. Her funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday afternoon, October 28, 2025, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Entombment will follow in Plantation Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 AM until the hour of service on Tuesday. Mrs. Winn will be remembered for her unwavering faith, love of family, and extraordinary life of service. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her.
