Ella Mae Jones Martin Rushton WALTERBORO, SC - Mrs. Ella Mae Jones Martin Rushton, 74, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Friday, May 1, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Monday, May 4, 2009 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow in Doctor's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Rushton was born October 18, 1934 in Walterboro and was a daughter of the late Godley Leon Jones and Lottie Humphries Jones. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church and was a retired seamstress. She enjoyed camping, doing crafts and collecting dolls. She was first married to the late Paul Carroll Martin, Sr. Surviving are: her husband, Stan Rushton, Jr. of Walterboro; son, Paul Carroll Martin, Jr. (Kathy) of Round O; granddaughters, India Martin Harrelson (Paul), Sonny Leigh Martin and Shelli Martin Hunt (B.J.), all of Walterboro; great grandchildren, MaKayla Hunt, Owen Harrelson, Austin Hunt, Montana Davis and Rylee Harrelson; sisters, Isolene Carter (Tommy) of Walterboro, Orene Hudson of Walterboro, Irene Carroll (Jimmy) of Walterboro, Suzanne Keller of Lodge, Carolyn Thompson (Buddy) of Walterboro, Loretta Atkinson (J.T.) of Barnwell, Gloria Copeland (Robert) of Ehrhardt and Katie Jerkins (Jessie) of Walterboro; and her beloved dog, Cricket. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Melissa Martin.
