Ella Alston Obituary

ALSTON, Ella Ella Alston, 94, of 2190 Rutledge Road, Germantown Section of McClellanville, SC departed this life Thursday, December 18, 2008 at East Cooper Regional Medical Hospital in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, December 22, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Greater Howard A.M.E. Church with Rev. Johnny L. Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hampton Plantation Cemetery under the direction of MCKNIGHT-FRASER FUNERAL HOME. A wake will be Monday, December 22, 2008 in the Walter S. Fraser Memorial Chapel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 in Georgetown, SC. Mrs. Alston, a daughter of the late Chester White and Addie Gillyard White was born October 28, 1914 in Shulerville, SC. She attended the Charleston County Public Schools and was a member of Howard A.M.E. church where she served in various capacities. Mrs. Alston was also a member of The Guiding Light Chapter #268 of the order of Eastern Star organization. Survivors are: Four daughters; Rosa Lee Lawrence of McClellanville, SC, Lucille Winns of Georgetown, SC, Celia Drummond of Brooklyn, NY and Nancy LaSane of McClellanville, SC; one son: Aaron Alston of McClellanville, SC; fifty-five grandchildren, one hundred thirty five great-grandchildren; eighty seven great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
