Elizabeth Strong Obituary

STRONG, Elizabeth Elizabeth Bankhead Strong, 82, of New Orleans and Mt. Pleasant died August 10, 2007 in East Cooper Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Mrs. Strong was born May 23, 1925 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was an active church member and Daughter of the King at Christ Episcopal Church, Mt. Pleasant as well as a long time member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, New Orleans. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Delbert P. Strong Sr., she is survived by her children, Robert A. Strong of New Orleans, Delbert P. Strong, Jr., also of New Orleans, Sheelah Strong Black of Rye, NY and Sarah Strong Ray of Mt. Pleasant, and five grandchildren, Lauren Burn, Adam Ray, Timothy Black, Meredith Ray and Sarah Black. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at ten o'clock in Christ Episcopal Church, Mt. Pleasant, Main Sanctuary, 2304 Highway 17 North at Long Point Road. Reception will follow at church. Interment will take place at a later date in New Orleans. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church Recovery Fund, 6249 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70125. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
