Elizabeth Poston Obituary

Elizabeth B. Poston KINGSTREE, SC - Mrs. Elizabeth "Beth" Burgess Poston, 70, widow of Dr. Howard H. Poston, Jr., died Friday, May 18, 2012, in a Kingstree hospital after an illness. Mrs. Poston was born October 7, 1941, a daughter of Leonard Dozier and Ruby Bartell Burgess. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School and was office manager for Dr. Poston. Beth was an active member of Kingstree United Methodist Church, where she attended the Frank Fairey Sunday School Class and the Leila Epps Circle. Beth, affectionately known as "Beba" by family and friends, was a kind and thoughtful Southern lady who was as comfortable on her riding lawn mower as she was managing her husband's medical practice. Surviving are: her sister Sarah Burgess Auman, of Darlington; niece Elizabeth Auman (Robert) Foster, of Columbia; nephew Fred Wilton "Chip" (Patsy) Auman III, of Hartsville; great nieces and nephews, Stuart Coleman Auman, of Hartsville, Katherine Elizabeth Auman, of Columbia, Elizabeth Burgess Foster and Marjorie Anne Foster, both of Columbia; and sister-in-law and her husband, Louise & Frank Register, of Lexington. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Leigh Haley and Dorothy June, for their loving care of Beth. Memorial services, directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home, will be 2 PM Monday, May 21, 2012, in Kingstree United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Williamsburg Cemetery. I still miss Beth. She had been a part of my life for a long time and was there for me when I needed her in recent years. She will be with "the girls" in spirit when we make our annual visit to Pawleys in the Fall. RIP, sweet Beth.
