Elizabeth Jacobs Obituary

Elizabeth Marie (Van Til) Jacobs, age 92, formerly of Braintree, died peacefully, Monday, October 6, 2014 at the South Shore Hospital in the comfort of her son and daughter-in-law. Elizabeth was born in Boston, raised and educated in Boston schools and was a graduate Hyde Park High School. She has lived in Marshfield for three years, previously in Braintree for over sixty-years. She was a homemaker but as a young woman had worked at the Harris Stamp Company in Boston. Later in life, she enjoyed being a volunteer at the Braintree Hospital. Elizabeth was an avid reader and loved animals. She was fond of dogs and especially cocker spaniels. She recently discovered an interest and talent in painting. Elizabeth was devoted to her family. Beloved wife of the late Sumner C. Jacobs. Devoted mother of Stephen V. Jacobs and his wife Joan and the late Robert S. Jacobs. Loving grandmother of Michael R. Jacobs and his wife Danielle, Stephen V. Jacobs, Jr. and his wife Terio and step-grandmother of Matthew R. Manning and his wife Katherine. Elizabeth is also survived by four great grandchildren. Graveside Services will be conducted at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree on Friday, October 10th at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Leanne Walt of the First Congregational Church in Braintree will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the cemetery office, 700 West Street, Braintree.
