Elizabeth Britnell Obituary

Elizabeth Britnell Goose Creek - Elizabeth Bernardine "Dinah" (Nash) Britnell of Goose Creek, SC passed away surrounded by her family on July 10, 2018. She was 76 years old. Dinah was born in Derry, Northern Ireland on May 21, 1942 to Lawrence and Lily Nash. She came to the United States as a Navy bride in 1963. She was always active in anything related to her Irish heritage, a long time member of the South Carolina Irish Historical Society and a founding member of the Our Lady of Knock Division of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and a member of the Degree Team . St. Patrick's Day found her in the parade on King Street. She delighted in Irish Music, Irish Dancing and Irish Ceilidhs. Dinah is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Albert I. Britnell. She leaves behind her three children and their spouses, who are lost without her: Albert P. and Amy Britnell, Kathleen (Kitty) and Ronnie Williamson and Josephine and William Starnes. She will be missed by her beloved granddaughters, Mary Katherine Starnes, Sarah Marie Elizabeth Williamson and Muireann Elizabeth Starnes. She leaves behind a brother, Patrick Nash of Derry, Northern Ireland; sister and brother-in-law Josephine and Ski Lisicki of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and her brother-in-law Bobby Britnell and sister-in-law Sandy Britnell of Lufkin, Texas. She is preceded in death by her sisters May McMenamin, Kathleen Jack, Helen Bradley and Carmel Nash. Dinah had many nieces and nephews whom she loved. Dinah loved life and she was devout in her Catholic faith. She was a blessing to so many. She loved her family and friends and will be missed every day. Interment in Ireland.
