Elizabeth Ann Bennett YONGES ISLAND - Elizabeth "Bette" Ann Bennett, 83, of Yonges Island, South Carolina, died Sunday, November 11, 2012 after an extended illness. A Funeral Service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in St. Mark United Methodist Church, 413 Geddes Ave. at 11:00 am. Interment in Christ St. Paul's Cemetery, 5034 Chapel Road, Yonges Island. The family will receive friends Tuesday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL (3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway) from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Bette was born November 21, 1928, to the late William Edward Hayes and Mabel Louise Johnson in Milton, MA. She enjoyed life and was the owner of The NeedleNook downtown in the market. Her favorite job was working at Edisto Beach State Park where she made many lifelong friends. She was an exceptional seamstress, knitter, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Bette is survived by her husband of 63 years, Clarence "Mike" Bennett; 2 sons, Scott Bennett (Donna) of Oak Island, NC, Craig Bennett of Charleston, SC; 3 daughters, Beth Meree (Eddie) of Charleston, SC, Lise Dahlman (Richard) of Ravenel, SC and Dawn McMillan (Harold) of Charleston, SC; two sisters, Carol Karlson (Ron) of Pembroke, MA, Mary Ann Johnson (Fred) of Hanson; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Bette will always be remembered as devoted to her family, friends and pets.
