Elizabeth Altman Obituary

Elizabeth Booker Altman WALTERBORO - Mrs. Elizabeth Booker Altman, 64, of Walterboro, was called up to play for the winning team this morning, October 6, 2021 around 3:30. She was an amazing woman. In her lifetime she finished college (at the College of Charleston), owned two separate, fairly successful businesses, one a handmade children's clothing and the other an Organic grocery store. In between, she taught elementary school for around 10 years. As a lefty, she was always thinking 2 steps ahead of most. She was a world traveler, a Dr. in natural medicine, a wife, and a mother. She excelled at everything that she did. We Love you, Mom. Dale, Mary Altman, and Philip love you and will miss you terribly. Elizabeth was born July 31, 1957 in Knoxville, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late William Edward Booker, III and Jo-Ann Ragland Widney Booker. Surviving are: her husband, Dale Everet Altman of Walterboro; children, Philip Ragland Altman of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Mary Katherine Winningham Altman of Warrenton, Illinois; brother, William Edward "Beau" Booker of Charleston; sisters, Nancy Warren and her husband, Kenny of Charleston and Bertha Booker of Wadmalaw Island. A memorial celebration of her life will be held at a later date and time to be arranged. ARRANGEMENTS BY: THE BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATORY, WALTERBORO CHAPEL, 1193 Bells Highway, Walterboro, 843.538.5408. Visit the registry online at: www.briceherndonfuneralhome.com. We both attended Margaret Hall School, Versailles, Kentucky-a girl's boarding school with field hockey (which "Booker" excelled...along with the academics, of course).
I published my memoir, "Destiny Deems" and thought to send a copy to Elizabeth. A search brought me here to her page. I hold fond memories...
