Eliza Darby Obituary

DARBY, Eliza RICHBURG - Mrs. Eliza Inman Ashe Darby, age 80, of Richburg, passed away Monday June 12, 2006 at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster. She was born April 13, 1926 in York County, SC and was the daughter of the late William Elias Ashe and Macie Kirkpatrick Ashe, and was the widow of Robert Atkinson Darby, Sr., and was the previous owner of Darby Well Drilling. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Ashe Moore. She was a graduate of York High School and the United States Cadet Nurse Corps of York County Hospital. She served as a Registered Nurse with the Public Health Department of Chester County, and was an elder of Cedar Shoals Presbyterian Church of Richburg. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Atkinson Darby, Jr. and Rosemary Darby of Mount Pleasant, SC; two brothers, Marion Ashe of Greenville, SC and Edwin K. Ashe of North Augusta, SC; and two grandsons, Robert A. Darby, III, and Matthew David Darby, both of Mount Pleasant. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday at the Cedar Shoals Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Richburg with Rev. Wayne Pruitt officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Cedar Shoals Presbyterian Church, c/o Sara Dickson, 5056 Richburg Road, Richburg, SC 29729 Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home of Great Falls is in charge of the arrangements.
