Elise Thompson Obituary

THOMPSON, Elise DARLINGTON - Elise Baxley Thompson, 85, wife of the late Harry A. Thompson, died Thursday, March 31, 2005 in a local nursing home after an illness. Mrs. Thompson was born in Johnsonville; a daughter of the late George W. and Elizabeth Newton Baxley. She was formerly employed by Tomlinson's Store in Hemingway and a member of Mechanicsville Baptist Church in Darlington. Surviving are three daughters, Hariette T. Brouthers of Charleston, Linda T. Hawkins of Easley, and Mary Ann T. Bayer of Saluda; a son, Stanley C. Thompson of Darlington; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a brother, Wilson Baxley of Lake City. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2005 at the chapel of Morris Funeral Home in Hemingway with interment following in Midway Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 - 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mechanicsville Baptist Church, 2401 Cashua Ferry Road, Darlington, SC 29532.
