Elisabeth Lewin TEWKSBURY, MA - Entered into rest February 3, 2019 at 70 years of age. Beloved wife of Barry Lewin of Tewksbury, MA. Devoted mother of Leah Weiss and her husband Alex of Dracut, MA; and Jaclyn Lewin and her husband Juan Saura of Madrid, Spain. Loving daughter of Louise (Wynne) Sottile of Huger, SC and the late Salvador Sottile. Dear sister of Charlotte Sottile of Columbia, SC; Nicholas Sottile and his wife Val of Huger, SC; Susan Momeier and her husband Chris of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and William Sottile and his wife Terri of Oceanside, CA. Bette is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon Street, BROOKLINE, on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 12:30 PM. Interment to follow at Montefiore Cemetery, Central Street, Woburn. Shiva will be held at her late residence following interment on Wednesday until 9PM, Thursday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM, with minyan both nights at 7:30 PM, and continuing on Friday from 2-4PM. It was lucky for me that Bette was my college roommate. I remember how excited and passionate she was about life. I so enjoyed being around her. I remember going to visit at the IOP home and walking on the beach. I remember her siblings. Don't think they would remember me. I remember seeing Charlotte on WIS tv and thinking, hey, that's Bette's sister. Also remember seeing Susan as a nurse while working at LMC. Nick was a kid when Iet him. I am sorry that Bette had Parkinson's. I will send a donation. Joan Latimer Frierson.

My sincere condolences on the loss of Bette. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting the Lewin family, I did grow up with Bette and the Sottile family in SC. I will always remember her with such an outgoing and caring personality. Rest in peace to a dear friend from my distant past.

Our sincerest condolences to Barry, Leah and family. We are very saddened to hear of your loss. May your warm memories help to sustain you all in the difficult days ahead. Bette was indeed one of the most beautiful, caring, giving people on earth. Her strength and courage while enduring this horrid disease was such an inspiration to so many around her that loved her kind and gentle spirit. She will be greatly missed but will live on in the hearts, souls and minds by all that loved her! RIP my dear friend. I feel honored to have known you.
