Elisa Bluestein Obituary

Elisa Deborah Bluestein MT. PLEASANT - Elisa Deborah Bluestein, 51, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Gabriel Solomon Bluestein, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Her funeral service will be held Sunday, April 30, 2023 in Synagogue Emanu-El, 5 Windsor Drive, at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at Emanu-El Cemetery (Maryville). Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel. Elisa was born March 11, 1972 in Burlington, Vermont, daughter of Sheila Galena Price and the late Ted (Theodore) Price. She graduated from Essex Junction High School class of 1990, then attended The University of Massachusetts at Amherst, graduating with honors in Hotel, Restaurant, and Travel Administration. There, she met Gabe, the love of her life and his. Elisa was distinguished with multiple awards in her major, being honored at a national conference in Chicago. She began her professional life in Boston by managing multiple restaurants, then transitioned her career into customer service in the banking industry. Elisa was highly respected for her care of clients-so much so that she left the banking industry when the norm became pushing additional services and accounts unnecessary for her customers. Migrating South to Raleigh, NC, she joined her husband at Biogen working in a different department, taking calls from patients experiencing adverse events to be reported to the FDA. After spending 5 years in Raleigh and having her two darling girls, Lily and Emma, the family moved south to Mount Pleasant, SC and began working at Charleston Water System. Elisa loved traveling, Broadway shows, improv, and standup comedy in small theaters like 34 West in downtown Charleston. Her favorite pastime was trying new Italian restaurants as they opened around Charleston and experimenting with new and innovative recipes to share with her family. Board and card games were always a family staple, as well as spending time shopping with her girls. Elisa is survived by her husband of 26 years, Gabe; two daughters, Lily Bluestein and Emma Bluestein; mother, Sheila Galena Price; and brother, Marc Price and his wife, Elisa. She was predeceased by her father, Ted (Theodore) Price. Donations may be made to Synagogue Emanu-El's Freda & Melvin Bluestein Fund for Religious School Scholarships, 5 Windsor Drive, Charleston, SC 29405. Elisa was one of the sweetest and most gentle people I´ve ever met. And she was a wonderful mother; my daughter Mira enjoyed visiting Lily at your home, where she was always warmly welcomed by Elisa and Gabe.
Wishing you comfort among friends and family in this time of loss and grief.

As my daughter´s playmate and good friend from the time they were little more than toddlers, I had many opportunities to be in Elisa´s presence throughout their decades long friendship. What I will remember is her warm smile and infectious giggle as well as all the fun she, Leslie, and our daughter Kayj had together. My heart goes out to her family especially her sweet girls. Know you are in our hearts. Madelyn Nash

I worked with Elisa at Charleston Water System. She was so kind and gentle. Elisa was knowledgeable about her profession and offered as much help as possible when needed. She was naturally to herself most days but her eyes would light up during conversation. She was our FAMILY . We love her and miss her so much. Until we meet again Elisa. I´m praying for the family as well.

I´m so terribly sorry to hear of your loss. Elisa was one my sister´s best friends, and I feel as though I watched her grow up in our neighborhood in Essex. We lost my sister very suddenly last year about this time. I know the pain you are feeling. My heart is with you at this time.
