Dear Kevin, Teri, and all of Kevin's siblings and family. After reading the Obituary of Ms. Quigley, it's obvious where Kevin acquired his quick wit, penetrating look, inquisitive mind, and dedication to public service. I only hope his mom knew how much he and his lady contribute to help the environment here in South Florida as Master Gardeners and Master Naturalists, and how much that means to so many people. Kevin's ability with creative work in wood, electrical and other things... his handiness, and his willingness to think out of the box to solve any problem had to have come from his mom, who obviously was a woman who lived way before her time, but found ways to make a difference and leave the world a better place for having had the good fortune of hosting her for over 90 years. My mother-in law passed away at 91 also, feisty til the last hour, wise, caring, always generous with those who were less fortunate than her. Doña Belen, like Ms. Quigley, belonged to a generation that realized, "but for God's grace there go I" in other words, after all, we are in the same world together and everyone needs to do what they can to make things better for everyone else.... and therefore we will automatically be better off ourselves.
I know you all will miss her dearly.... make her proud as she looks down on you by continuing to be the generous, dedicated, philanthropic (even if only by the time you volunteer) citizens in your community, and improving the world by caring.
