Eldridge Atkins Obituary

Eldridge (LG) Atkins, Jr. DORCHESTER, SC - Eldridge (LG) Greely Atkins, Jr., 80, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at White Oak Manor, Charleston. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Limestone Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Mims officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will Buddy Atkins, Philip Atkins, Christopher Mizell, Kent Mizell, Thomas Mizell, David Truett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Atkins Jr. and Troy Millen. The visitation will be an hour before the service in the church. Eldridge was born on February 25, 1943 in Dorchester, a son of the late Eldridge Greely Atkins, Sr. and Mattie Lee Risher Atkins. He was a graduate of Harleyville-Ridgeville High School and was the owner of Dorchester Wood Products. He was a member of Limestone Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Camp Hall Hunt Club, Beidler Forest Audubon Society, Four Hole Hunt Club and an honorary member of Mallard Lake fishing club. Surviving is his wife, Loretta M. Atkins; brothers, Michael (Carol) Atkins and Talmadge (Darlene) Atkins. Special thank you to Tony Atkins and his wife, Amy, as caregivers. Memorials may be made to Limestone Baptist Church, 1890 East Main Street, Dorchester, SC 29437.
