BENTON, JR., Eldon Eldon Louis "Louie" Benton, Jr., husband of Stephanie Stoppelbein Benton died Thursday, February 28, 2008, at his residence. He was born in Orangeburg, SC the son of Eldon Louis Benton, Sr. and Neatha Martha Groves Benton on Sunday, August 16, 1936. Mr. Benton attended St. Patrick's School and Bishop England High School and retired after 37 years as a Manager with SCE&G. Louie was a Past President of the Sanddunes Club and the Pivot Club. He was a member of the National Guard, an avid Gamecock Fan and loved fishing, the beach and outdoors. Louie adored his grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Ashley Maguire. Mr. Benton is survived by his wife of 23 years, Stephanie S. Benton; his children, Victor L. Benton (Jennifer), Cindy L. Brown (Grady), Randall K. Benton (Keri), Janet L. Infinger (Eric), Donald S. Benton, Katrina C. Hatch (Jack); his sisters, Doris B. Hiott, Catherine E. Benton, Christine B. Newman (Robert), Martha M. Jones (Dwayne), Peggy B. Hart (Robert), Allene B. Cowart (Harvey), Imogene B. Lassiter (Randy), Gay Nell Anderson (Gerald); his brothers, Lawrence C. Benton (Peggy), John J. Benton (Judy), James F. Benton (Carol), Ronald A. Benton (Maureen) and his grandchildren, Britany, Jackson, Dalton, Grady, Emily, Connor, Alex, Adam, Julie, Robert Ashley, Cole, Austin, Dawson, Tiara and Kami. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Louis Benton, Jr. are invited to attend his Memorial Mass at the Church of the Nativity, Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM.
