Elaine Smith Obituary

Elaine is on my list of 'Best Teachers Ever'. And outside the classroom her dedication to her students was just as important.

Dear Mike,
Can't believe it has been almost 6 years since we lost Elaine. So fortunate to be able to see you on Facebook and still connect! Wayne and DawnEllison Smith, the Ginn ,Smith and Ellison families

So sorry to hear of your loss. Fond memories of good times with Elaine at HMS. Remember her from North Charleston High, too. Thoughts and prayers are sent your way.

Elaine was an amazing woman who touched the hearts of all who knew her. She approached every situation with sophistication and class. We will all miss her loving spirit.

While working with Elaine at Hannah Middle School (many years ago), I was taught many beautiful life lessons ... Elaine's integrity, sincerity, warmth and friendship were a mainstay in my life then and have helped me in times of reflection. I loved the time we were together in the media center. I am thankful God allowed our paths to cross.

Elaine was one of my favorite teachers at N.C.H.S. She will be missed by many. Our Prayers are with you Mike and your family.

Elaine was such a great person to work with at Addlestone Hebrew Academy. She was a wonderful teacher and leader. She "wore many hats"and handled a great variety of tasks every day. She had a great sense of humor and she did everything with grace and style. I will never forget her.

I've often heard when a person has a sunset in their life on earth, they have a sunrise in heaven in God's presence.
In this difficult time, I pray God will comfort you and give you His peace. Elaine's sunset...came too soon.

Elaine was a very special person and I am so sad to hear of her passing. However, I must smile when I recall fond memories of her. May you also find comfort in remembering happy times and in knowing how much others care.

So sorry to hear of Ms. Smith's passing. Out of all the teachers I had in high school, I remember her the most. (North Charleston, class of 1974).

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you as Elaine and I were at Columbia College together and we were both media specialists in Berkeley County for years. She always wanted to share her knowledge with others. She was the epitome of a Columbia College lady.

Nell, I just read about Elaine in the paper. I am so sorry and hope you know you and all of your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Love you.

My heart is so heavy. Elaine was such a wonderfully sweet and intelligent person! She was witty but kind and we have lost her way too soon to a devastating disease. To me Elaine was the Pat Summitt of the world of English literature. How unfair that Alzheimers struck them both down in their prime. My heart aches for you and for everyone who loved this dear, dear lady.
