Edwin Tobias Obituary

Edwin James Tobias GREENVILLE, SC - Edwin James Tobias, 52, of Greenville, SC, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2015 after a long battle with the Neurological disease MSA (Multiple System Atrophy). Ed was born in Charleston, SC on October 30, 1963 to James May and Opal Wilkes Tobias. After growing up as a 9th generation Charlestonian, he graduated from Bishop England high school in Charleston, and then graduated from Purdue University in Indiana, where he obtained a Computer Science Degree. Ed is survived by his wife, Malabar Blue Harrington Tobias; son, James Tobias, and step-son, Alex McCullough; mother, Opal Wilkes Tobias; two siblings, Eve Hiott and Eric Tobias (Robyn); and many beloved nieces and nephews. Ed lived a full life, and was known for his ever present smile and unwavering patience. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 2, at 10am at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 2252 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, SC with visitation immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to MUSC Foundation at MUSC Department of Neuroscience, 173 Ashley Ave., Charleston, SC 29425, or to the charity of your choice.
