Edwin Robinson Obituary

ROBINSON, SR., Edwin Edwin Ashby Robinson, Sr., 85, of 300 Klein Street, a retired construction superintendent and husband of Betty Lou Harley Robinson, died Wednesday at Roper Hospital in Charleston. Mr. Robinson was born July 26, 1921 in Clarendon County; a son of the late Ashby Bell Robinson and Martha Jane D. Robinson. He lived most of his life in Colleton County. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and served in the US Army during World War II in the European Theater. Survivors beside his wife include a son, Edwin A. (Eddie) Robinson and wife Ann and a granddaughter, Cassie Robinson of Walterboro and Edisto Island; three sisters, Elsie Faye Guess of Orangeburg, Barbara Gibbons of Turbeville,and Joette Haven, and husband Jim of Walterboro. He also leaves to cherish a special angel, Mary Alice (PP) Covington of Walterboro, who kept him smiling when things were really tough. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Scott Robinson; a sister, Wylah May Buddin of Turbeville, and two brothers, Carol Robinson and Vernon Robinson, both of Canadys. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at the graveside in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, directed by PARKER-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME.
