Edward Courtenay Sloan JAMES ISLAND - Edward Courtenay Sloan, of James Island, died June 12, 2014 of multiple medical conditions in MUSC Medical Center in Charleston. He was born in Greenville August 1, 1961, a son of Edward D. Sloan, Jr. and the late Charlotte B. Ferguson of Greenville. He was graduated from Sewanee Academy, attended Wofford College, and was graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in C.E. degree in 1985. He resided most of his life in Atlanta. In addition to his father, he is survived by a brother John Ferguson Sloan, and his sisters Caroline Young Sloan and Ella Lindsay Sloan. A funeral service will be June 16 at 2 pm in Markley Chapel of Christ Church with burial in the churchyard followed by a reception in the Parish House.
