Ms. Marie, Elizabeth, Margaret, Edward, and Rawlins,

I am deeply sorry to hear about Mr. Lowndes. I have many, MANY wonderful memories of my childhood at the Bluff. Riding horses, "killer" jungle fowls, coon/deer hunting, checking duck boxes, and getting up hay in the summer heat are just a few. I always had a deep respect for Mr. Lowndes and he taught me plenty about life and the great outdoors. For a few summers I almost forgot who my real family was because I spent so much time with yours. Just wanted to let you know that ya'll are in my prayers. Suzanne

I hardly knew Ed but he made a lasting impression on me whenever I saw him at the "One and Only" store in Pimlico. He always tipped his hat and impressed me with his southern manners. Blessings to the family, I know you will miss him.

The loss of Edward Lowndes is of great sorrow to many. Edward was a Gentleman in every sense of the definition. Edward greeted everyone with his Southern charm and would tip his hat to the ladies. No one was a stranger to Edward;he made everyone feel like family. Those who knew Edward had the utmost respect for him. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Lowndes, one of the most unique individuals, who made a lasting and positive impact on my life, and one of Charleston’s finest gentlemen. I can best describe him as a stoic man with chivalrous intent. My heart felt condolences go out to my friends Rowlands and Ed, and the entire Lowndes family.

Regards,

To the Lowndes family, I am sorry for your loss, Edward was such a kind man, whom I feel blessed to have known and worked with for the past three years. Edward would always tell me I was a "smart kid" when I would help him with those rating programs, he will be deeply missed in the office. My thoughts and prayers have been with all of you during this difficult time. Sincerely,
