To the Klein Family,
I recently found out about your loss and I want to send you my sincere condolences. I joined Westvaco in 2001 and (like Ed) migrated to the Chillicothe area from Charleston after the merger of Mead and Westvaco. I reported directly to Ed and he quickly took me under his wing and taught me how to survive in corporate america. During the 12 months that I worked for Ed, we formed a special relationship and he taught me many things. Even though I no longer work for MeadWestvaco, I know that I am a better scientist and overall person because of the experiences that we shared. During our trips to TX, MA, TN, MD (to name a few), Ed always provided me with some advice that I still carry until this day. His kind words, advice, and image of his shirt that could never stay tucked in his pants will always remain with me. He was a great supervisor and I considered him a dear friend.
Sincerely,
Ashley Steven Scott

I am sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed talking with Ed, mostly in passing in the hallway at Chillicothe Research.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Ed death and I would like to express my sincere sympathy to the family.
I was privileged to work closely with Ed during his assignment at Chillicothe. Ed was a remarkable man in many ways. My experience to work with Ed was very enjoyable and rewarding. Ed was highly respected in our company. He was regarded as a extremely intelligent, wise man, a visionary leader, a person with great dignity by anyone who ever worked with him.
With sincere sympathy,
Slava Babinsky
