Years of a steady diet of cheeseburger clubs with fries and a lemonade has been a hard habit to break. As have been the occasional Sunday morning breakfasts before church when Carol was alive. But I will miss most of all his big smile, loud but heartfelt greetings and his friendship. He led a great, meaningful life.

Angela,
I am deeply sorry for your loss. Ed was a wonderful person. I am so glad that I got to met him and you. I will always remember his smiling face and thoughtful words. The first thing that I did when I came to work was to find out how he was doing. He fought a hard battle but never gave up. He always talked about you and your daughter he was so proud of both of you. I remember one Monday night as soon as I came off the elevator several people told me that Ed wanted to see me. I immediately went into his room, He asked me if they gave me something from him. It was a picture of me and one of my patient's wife. He told me that he was glad that I was one of his nurses and that he also thought that I was special. From that day on he called me his movie star nurse. I will miss talking with Ed and you. Both of you have touched my heart. Please continue to keep in touch. If you need anything or just need to talk give me a call. May God bless you and your family.

Angela and Marie,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. I am so saddened by Ed's passing. I enjoyed taking care of him and getting to know him during his many months on 5 south. I have been remembering all the times we had together chatting during his hospital stay. He was a special man and such an inspiration to me. I am grateful to have known him and your family. Please know that I am here for you if you need anything.
My deepest sympathy,
