Edward Jordan Obituary

Edward H. (Lucky) Jordan, Jr. CHARLESTON - James Island - Lucky Jordan, 77, husband of Chieko Jordan, died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 24th, 2021. A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, October 29th, at Holy Cross Cemetery, James Island. Lucky was born on January 5th, 1944, to the late Edward H. Jordan, Sr. and Helen Matson Jordan. He was a graduate of James Island High School, where he lettered in football. After graduation he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Okinawa, where he met the love of his life, Chieko. They were married for 55 glorious years. In addition to his parents, Lucky was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Jordan Droze. Lucky retired from the Air Force after 20 years, where he was an airplane mechanic and served in the Vietnam War. After leaving the Air Force he worked in Supply at the Charleston Naval Shipyard for 10 years. He then worked in security at the Charleston Naval Hospital for nine years. He was also a member of the Church of Nativity and an avid member of the James Island High booster club. Lucky took great pride in supporting his sons in their sporting events: football, baseball, and track. He often showed up several hours before games to get a good seat, rain or shine. Lucky was extremely proud of his sons and his grandchildren. Surviving are his sons, Creg (Kim), Eddie (Laura), and Chad (Beth); and his grandchildren: Bryce, Alyssa, Katie Ray, Tucker, Torren, and Bade. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parish Life Center of the Church of Nativity, 1061 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412, or Pet Helpers Adoption Center, 1447 Folly Road, Charleston, SC, 29412. I hated to see this. Lucky and I grew up next to each other and were child hood friends. Had many good times together. I am living in Fl. and wont be able to attend on Friday, but my prayers are with his wife and family.
