Jim, Mary Capitola King and Catherine Sutherland send sincere sympathies over the loss of "Big Ed". We wouldn't be in Atl. without him and Irene as Mary C. Ferguson found our house 25 years ago. May the Croft and King and Weston families remain connected. Much love, Mary C.

On monday I got a call from Ed about his father,we are out of town I have had a few days to reflect on Edward . Ed was my dad's first cousin and was very active in keeping the relatives connected . I am the proud receipient of a book " The Crosswell's of Cottage Rest" which was a labor of love for him and Irene . Over the years we had the opportunity to have them up to our lake house and visit with my dad , his brother and sister . We can still hear the laughter that would come from the porch and the neighbors always enjoyed the ehcos across the cove. During our visits Ed would inquire about your life and how things were going , These questions were very sincere and would be filed away to be followed up on the next visit . We always enjoyed the visits and I will miss answering the phone and hearing " This is your cousin Ed Croft calling " .Our prayers are with Irene and the rest of the family .

I had not seen my former boss in many years, but that never took away from his profound influence on me, nor will his death. I am with you in spirit. My deepest love to Irene and all the family.

"Gentle" is a small attribute for this magnificient specimen of a christian being. To be called "His Driver", was an honor loaded with fun and a great privilege. May our prayers and condolences be felt by his beautiful wife Ms. Mary, and the entire Croft and Ferguson families.

If there is a hall of fame for guys that did it right, "Big Ed" would be a charter member. Few men can be as entertaining as they are respected, but this big curious bear could do both. I loved the man and his family, to know one is to know both. May God be with them all and bring them peace.

I remember Mr. Croft as he would often come into the C&S Bank downtown on Marietta and joke and meet with some of the guys I worked with then: Wendell Starke, Ed Mitchell and the likes. He was always kind, courteous and friendly to the "assistants". Wendell, Ed Mitchell and some of the others from C&S later formed what is now INVESCO. Rest in peace, well done, good and faithful servant. Fond regards, Vicky Graves
