Edward J. Almond, 59, of Northampton, died July 20, 2004, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. Born Feb. 9, 1945, in Allentown, he was a son of the late Edward F. and Theresa (Knopf) Almond. He was the husband of Grace L. (Clewell) Almond. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Aug. 31, 2003. He was a shift operator for Flouro-Seal Co., Allentown, for the past five years. Previously, he was a presser for the former Cross-Country Clothes, Northampton, for 34 years. He was a member of St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, Catasauqua. Survivors: Wife; daughters, Michele R. Yanders and fiance Dale Kelley of Shippensburg, Lori Ann, wife of Michael Hall of Northampton; son, Christopher Michael Almond and fiancee Ginny Wagner of Little Egg Harbor, N.J.; sister, Rosemarie White of Catasauqua; brother, Thomas Almond of Slatington; grandchildren, Casey, Eon, Kristie, Zachary, Nicole, Rosie, Jessica. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Burial, St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, North Catasauqua. Contributions: Northampton Regional E.M.S., 1525 Canal St., Northampton 18067 or c/o the funeral home 18067.
