Edna Rogers Swanger SUMMERVILLE - Edna Rogers Swanger, 92, widow of Carson Wright Swanger of Summerville, SC died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, August 7, 2009 at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park in Waynesville, NC at 2 o'clock. Friends may call at Wells Funeral Home, 296 North Main St., Waynesville, NC Thursday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. Mrs. Swanger was born March 9, 1917 in Haywood County, NC, a daughter of Taylor Rogers and Polly Fisher Rogers. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Shaw of Summerville, SC, Eunice Damon of San Antonio, TX; one son, Arvin Swanger of Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, Evelyn Morris of Fines Creek, NC; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Taylor and Polly Rogers; her husband, Carson Wright Swanger; a grandson, Scott Swanger; and four brothers, Hugh, Dewey, Elmer and Bob Rogers.
