Edmund "Ed" Charles Burns ISLE OF PALMS - Edmund "Ed" Charles Burns, age 92, of Isle of Palms, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on October 29, 2023. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Stella Maris Catholic Church on Sullivan's Island, South Carolina. The Rosary will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel at 5:30 p.m. followed by visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. A private interment will be held at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Ed was born in Roberts County, South Dakota, son of Edmund T. and Susie Burns. He served in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean conflict. A graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. A past President of the Romeo, Michigan-area Kiwanis and a retired State Farm insurance agent. He enjoyed golf, basketball, and gardening. Ed was a long time volunteer for the East Cooper Meals on Wheels. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl (O'Connell) Burns, a son, Patrick and daughter, Catherine Hollister both of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and a son, Michael of Denver, Colorado. Nine grandchildren: Noah, Daniel, Sean, Anna Cate, and Elena Hollister; Brendan, Logan, and Owen Burns; and Vincent Gocon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Cooper Meals on Wheels P.
