Eda Laughlin Obituary

Eda Jurs Laughlin CHARLESTON - Eda Jurs Laughlin, 94, of Charleston passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 9, 2023. Eda was born on March 15, 1929 in Charleston, the daughter of Manning and Mary Jurs. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Alfred, and her sons, Alan Blair and Gerry Jurs Laughlin. She leaves behind 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 nephews. Eda was a long-time member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church on James Island. Eda was an artist who loved to paint, cross stitch and quilt. She enjoyed creating cross stitch patterns of historical locations in the Charleston area and donating her handmade quilts to local charities and shelters. The public is invited to a Celebration of her Life to be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 2 PM at Martin Luther Church, 1605 Harbor View Road, James Island, SC 29412. Memorials may be made to Martin Luther Church or Pet Helpers of James Island.
