Having moved away from Charleston years ago, I lost touch with my very, dear family friend, Von. Sadly I just found out about his passing. I grew up knowing Von from a young age and I can say that he was one of the most fun loving and caring people I have ever known. My family owned Byars on the corner of Church and Broad Streets many years ago and he became a steadfast friend of our family way back then. He is dearly missed...

My prayers and condolences to Margaurite on Halsall's passing. I enjoyed talking with him regularly as we were doing yard work prior to moving away.
