Dylan Durell Derbyshire
Charleston - Dylan Durell "DD" Derbyshire, 50, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 after an 8-year battle with cancer.
Born on November 26, 1975 in Lima, OH, Dylan is survived by his father John (and Linda) Derbyshire, mother Maureen (and Greg) Howard, brothers Jesse and Dane Derbyshire, sister Nikki Derbyshire and sister-in-law Kendal Derbyshire, his nephew, John Colin Derbyshire and nieces Glenna Grace Quilal-lan and Devon Derbyshire.
Dylan attended St. Charles Elementary School and Lima Central Catholic in Lima, OH before moving to South Carolina where he attended Stratford High School and The Citadel in Charleston, SC.
Dylan was deeply loved by his family and friends. He will be remembered for his gentle kindness, mischievous smile and zest for life. He was an inspiration for others as he overcame numerous battles over the last 30 years. He had become a key member of the Alcoholics Anonymous community where he served as an example of perseverance and helped guide others in their journey toward sobriety.
His closest family will warmly remember countless weekends spent with Dylan rooting for his favorite football teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Michigan Wolverines.
We love our DD and we will miss him terribly, but we trust that he is in a better place. May he rest in peace with the Risen Lord.
