I didn't know you before. I can't get to know you now, but in the few minutes you held my hand I loved you...and I still do. You are with me always.

Hey Dustin,

Yesterday was nine months. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think about you. I miss you so much; we all do. I want to see you in my drive way with my my Dad one more time, i want you to call me and ask me what I'm doing tonight, I want to hang out at Ash and Pat's with you and Lainey just one more time. That's all I want...just one more time. I love you.

I am shocked and saddened, I just learned of Dustin's death. I am grateful for the time we spent together from the time we met while we were working at Market Pavilion to being neighbors on Folly Beach. I will remember the good times we had. For the family, Brinn, and other loved ones; my thoughts are with you, what a tragedy.

I MISS YOU BRO!! I STILL THINK ABOUT YOU EVERY DAY. ITS REALLY WEIRD, I ALWAYS FORGET THAT YOU ARE GONE. IT FEELS LIKE YOU ARE ON A TRIP, OR YOUR IN COSTA. RARELY DOES THE REALITY SURFACE THAT I WONT BE SEEING YOU AGAIN IN THIS LIFETIME. ITS SO WEIRD TO THINK ABOUT. I REALLY MISS YOU RIGHT NOW, BUT I LIKE IT BETTER WHEN I DONT MISS YOU. Well what can we say..besides we all miss you so much. Bren especially I took her running on the beach with with two new boxers I got, she loves them. Well every time i see someone riding that wave I think ha..no one could do it like you. Well we miss you dearly!

The reality of the fact you will not be there to smile at me & Jody when we come home for Christmas just hit us. We were sitting at home last night making lists of the people we want to see and things we have to do when we go home. It wasn't until after I wrote your name that it hit me and the grief caming rushing back. Jody even wrote on his list to go surfing with you. It's odd huh? I still miss you more & more but I know that you are right there looking over me and all you family & friends making sure we're alright. That gives me strength.

I miss hearing you laugh when I called you that. Today is Thanksgiving and it has almost been two months since you've been gone. Even though it is hard to find something to be thankful for today, I am thankful that I met you. Having you in my life is the best thing that has ever happened to me and today I will thank God for sending you to me. Although our time together was short and sweet I will cherish our memories forever. I will always fold my socks and make chocolate milk the "right way", the way you showed me! I love you Dustin

I read this guest book everytime I get an email that someone has signed it. I knew the day would come when the emails didn't come in as much. I am so thankful for the abundant love my family and I have received from our friends and Dustin's friends...from James Island, to Folly, all the way to Las Vegas friends have shown us how important my cousin was to them. Thank you so much! Thank you for reminding me daily that he was a major part of your life. Thank you for showing me the amount of people he touched.
It's overwhelming to know you're not with me right now Dusty, but hold tight to our memories. I can't wait to see you again, we will have alot of overdue fighting to take care of when I meet up with you. We'll have a ton of partying to do and I know that because of OUR commitment to Jesus Christ we've got the best spot in the world to do ALL OF THAT! 143

Dustin: The reality of you being gone is becoming more and more obvious as time goes by. You have touched so many peoples lives in the short time you were here. Everyone who knows you only has wonderful things to say.I can understand why GOD was ready to have you for himself. My family and I must be living under a rock. We just heard of Dustins' parting and our prayers are with all the family and friends of Dustin's. We knew Dustin when he was very young and full of life and to my understanding he never changed, not one iota. God Bless You Dustin! The lord needed a ray of light and took you to be with him. I would like to send my deepest sympathies to Lil D's family and all of his friends. I grew up on Folly with Lil D and though we were never very close, his death was a shock to me. For someone not even two weeks older then myself, to die so tragically in an accident, lets us all realize how precious life is. I know he will be missed by not only myself, but also by all those close to him.

Little D,you always had a smile on your face and contagious laugh. Ill never forget the times we shared and will carry on your amazing spirit forever.

Dusty, you lived life to fullest! There are very few people that could have lived their life with the joy that you did. We know that your ear to ear smile touched many, and that you brought a ray of light into this world. We will love and miss you, always remembering the little kid with the big smile and bigger heart.

As a Public Safety Officer and a member of the community we call Folly Beach, I had the chance to meet many of the youth of our town. Little D was one of those youths. I had the opportunity to see this youngman grow up into a good man. I'll always remember the respect you showed me as a person and Police Officer. Lil D was exactly as described! What a comfort to have such an angel as him, look down upon us. He will be greatly missed.
