We were camping at James Island County Park when we returned to find the rescue workers looking for little Duffy. My sister immediately sent out prayer request to her prayer partners at home in NC. When we found out the sad news, my sister, my husband and I were heartbroken. We didn't sleep much that night and I immediately texted my pastor at Gibbs Chapel Church in Morganton, NC the next morning to ask the church to pray for all of Duffy's family. I feel sure that God protected Duffy from fear and pain in his last moments, because He takes care of His little angels. I know you don't know us but just know there are people praying for you all in NC. Our hearts go out to you and we will continue praying in the days to come.

To Duffy's Family,
I had never met this little guy, but it has broken my heart that he was taken so soon from his family. I have had him in my prayers ever since I heard of his passing, and I hope to meet him one day in Heaven. I have a little grandson Duffy's age, and although I did not know Duffy, I feel that all children are God's special little beings. It is so difficult to understand why this had to happen to such a beautiful child. I hope that you will comforted by the strength that only our Saviour can give. God bless you all.
Sincerely,
Barbara Anne McDaniel Alford

Sometimes just knowing someone else cares seems to make everything a little easier and hopefully the days a little brighter. Please know that we both care very much for all of you. We are so very sorry that you all have lost your sweet Duffy. We will never know the reason why this precious child was taken from us so soon. We can rest in knowing that we can and we will see him again. Please know that we both hurt for all of you. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Much love~ Douglas & Tami Moorer and Family

Duffy, "Duffy-lou", you left us way too soon. You were on your way to being a smart, handsome, lovable little man. I will miss your smile and the way you said "puckle" and "Bram", and Lorlie, and Blek. I am so sorry this happened to you. I can't imagine how scared you must have been. May God be with you and hold you lovingly in his arms always and erase any horrible memories from your mind forever.
