SALEM, N.H. — Dorothy A. (Scott) Wood, 72, died Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, N.H., after a brief illness. She was the wife of Ernest C. Wood for 50 years.
She was born in Roxbury on March 6, 1936, the daughter of the late Nathan E. and Edith L. (Cutter) Scott. She was educated in the Boston School System, resided in Salem, N.H. since 1967, formerly of Derry from 1959 to 1967, and also in North Reading.
She was a member of the First Congregation Church in Pelham, N.H. for many years, enjoyed cooking, sewing, country western music, gardening, picnics, and traveling with her family.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Thomas C. Wood, Nathaniel E. Wood, both of Salem; a sister, Judith Smith of Tewksbury; nieces and nephews; and she was the mother of the late David E. Wood, who died in 1961.
ARRANGEMENTS: Memorial services will take place at the Goundrey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 42 Main St. (Rt. 97), Salem, N.H., Thursday morning at 11. Burial will be private at the Riverside Cemetery, North Reading.
