Dorothy Szymczak Obituary

SZYMCZAK, Dorothy WALTERBORO - Mrs. Dorothy Agnes Szymczak, 83, of 664 Benton Farm Road, Walterboro, died Wednesday evening, February 1, 2006, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 Saturday morning, February 4, 2006, in Saint Anthony Catholic Church, 925 South Jefferies Blvd., Walterboro. Final Commendation and farewell will be held 11 o'clock, Monday, February 6, 2006, at the Beaufort National Cemetery. Mrs. Szymezak was born July 14, 1922, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was a daughter of the late Stanley Edgar LaRoss and Mary Agnes McCormick LaRoss. She was a faithful member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church where she was a member of the women's club. There are many things that will be remembered about Dorothy, such as, the love and devotion she had to her family, the care and compassion she showed to people and nature, and being devoted to her daily prayers. Survivors are: her husband of 61 years, Mr. Walter Richard Szymezak; two sons, Richard G. Szymezak and Stephen J. Szymezak and his wife Patty all of Moorestown, New Jersey; two daughters, Dorothy Ann Rowland and her husband Alan of Seabrook and Barbara C. Sebastiano and her husband Michael of Clementon, New Jersey; three brothers, John E. LaRoss of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Chauncy H. LaRoss of Malta, New York, and Robert R. LaRoss of Warminster, Pennsylvania; and a sister, Anna Mae C. Apice of Jobstown, New Jersey; and five grandchildren. Flowers will be accepted or the family has suggested for those who wish may direct memorial contributions in her memory to the following: Saint Anthony Catholic Church, 925 South Jefferies Blvd., Walterboro, SC 29488; or to American Diabetes Association, 2711k Middleburg Dr., Suite 205, Columbia, SC 29204. Family and friends may call from 6:00 until 8:00 this Friday evening with a prayer service being held at 7:30 at THE BRICE W.
